Synopsis

Disguised as a provisions buyer, she traces the military supply chain from five years ago and discovers that the grain intended for Jinzhou was diverted to private warehouses belonging to a shell company. The company's real owner is hidden behind layers of intermediaries, but the trail unmistakably points toward the Ministry of Revenue.
During her investigation, Changyu encounters Bai Yue, a sharp-witted female merchant who becomes her unexpected ally. Bai Yue has her own grudge against Qi Min — he destroyed her family's business when her father refused to participate in his corruption schemes. Together, they begin assembling a paper trail of financial records.
